Poppy display at the Hall
Last November, inspired by other towns’ beautiful Armistice displays, Keeping Duns Blooming Marvellous initiated a poppy showcase in Duns. Below you can see photos capturing the stunning display outside the Volunteer Hall, including purple poppies commemorating animals lost in battle. The 3 thousand poppies were knitted and crocheted by Duns volunteers.
Thank you all for your amazing work. We’re also grateful for support from charity shops BAVS and Pet Rescue who donated red, black and purple wool and acted as drop off and pick up points.
This community-driven initiative plans to continue throughout 2024, aiming to cover the hall’s front railings for next year’s Armistice. Join us in this heartfelt tribute to honour and remember.
