Come and Sing Haydn’s Creation
Haydn’s oratorio The Creation is more than just a gloriously uplifting retelling of the Book of Genesis. Inspired by Haydn’s visits to the UK and the optimism of the Enlightenment, it’s a celebration of the act of creativity itself, overflowing with majesty, humour, and the sheer, irrepressible joy of life.
We’re delighted to see the return of Come and Sing to the Volunteer Hall with such a life-affirming choral work. The weekend will follow the format of our previous events, with all-day rehearsals on Saturday 12 March, and an afternoon rehearsal and early evening performance on Sunday 13 March.
The rehearsals and concert will be held in the Volunteer Hall, Duns, and will be led by local conductor, Kit Hobkirk. The performance will be dedicated to Ukraine and a retiring collection will be held for the Disasters Emergency Committee.
