Christmas 2021 Events
Thank you to everyone who joined us in the online Christmas Quiz on 27th December 2021 and took part in the Walking Treasure Hunt between 24 December 2021 and 2 January 2022.
The Big Christmas Quiz
We had around 24 teams taking part in the Christmas Quiz (this would be around 80 people participating). Whilst the majority came from the Duns area we again had a few taking part from south of the border and one from Nova Scotia in Canada. (The participants came across the Quiz in 2020 whilst spending Christmas in Craster, Northumberland.) One other regular in our online quizzes from Albuquerque sent an email to apologise for missing this year’s quiz.
It was a close fought contest over the 6 rounds with the 2020 champions (Hobkirk & Brown) emerging victorious over last year’s runners-up (the Wood family). Well done everyone!
Treasure Hunt
Around 80 people took part in the family Walking Treasure Hunt with high scores from all teams that returned an answer sheet. Out of a total available points of 50 no team scored less than 47 – a remarkable achievement (or were the questions too easy?!). There was a tie on 49.5 for 2 teams with E. Morgan’s family emerging victorious after a tie-break question – L. Wilson’s team eventually finishing runners-up. Congratulations!
