On Sunday 22 October 2023, Duns Volunteer Hall was transformed into a realm of musical enchantment as the Come and Sing Concert took centre stage. It was a night to remember, where the timeless beauty of Gabriel Fauré’s masterpieces were brought to life. .
A Symphony of Voices and Instruments
The true stars of the evening were our remarkable community choir and orchestra, which was led by the skilled hand of Diane Merson-Jones. From the first note to the last, they captured the essence of Fauré’s compositions, creating an atmosphere that was nothing short of magical.
Solo Brilliance
Adding to the brilliance of the night were our exceptional soloists, Paul Grant and Olivia Massimo. Their voices filled the hall with emotion and grace, and their performances were nothing short of breath-taking.
The Conductor’s Baton
Behind it all was our conductor, Kit Hobkirk. With his direction, the music came to life, carrying us away on a musical journey that we won’t soon forget. Kit’s skillful leadership ensured that every note was played and sung with precision, passion, and pure magic.
