A Heart for Duns Plant Sale raised £2000
A Heart for Duns Plant Sale, held on 14th May, proved to be a tremendous success, raising an impressive £2000 in support of the remarkable efforts of Keeping Duns Blooming Marvellous. The event, made possible by the generous contributions of attendees and the hard work of dedicated volunteers, garnered an overwhelming response.
Local residents and plant enthusiasts came together to not only indulge in their love for gardening but also to support a worthy cause. The funds raised will contribute significantly to the ongoing work of Keeping Duns Blooming Marvellous, ensuring the town remains a green and vibrant place to live, work and visit.
The overwhelming response and enthusiastic participation were instrumental in making the plant sale a resounding success. A Heart for Duns and Keeping Duns Blooming Marvellous would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended and lent their support.
Looking ahead, the next event on the calendar is the Open Gardens Day as part of Scotland’s Gardens Scheme, scheduled for Sunday 18th June. This annual event provides a wonderful opportunity for locals and visitors alike to explore the hidden treasures of Duns’ beautiful gardens. This year’s Open Gardens Day aims to raise funds for two deserving charities: Duns Community Nursery and Berwickshire Riding for Disabled.
Under the Scotland’s Gardens Scheme, 40% of the funds raised will be allocated to support the scheme’s wider charitable initiatives, while the remaining 60% will be dedicated to the local community through AHFD (A Heart for Duns).
