A Heart for Duns 2023 AGM
The A Heart for Duns AGM was held on Monday 13th November, and we’d like to say a huge thank you to all of the members who attended. The participation of the community is vital, and all residents of Duns and District (TD10 and TD11) are welcome to create a free membership to have their say and shape our mission.
The report from the AGM is available in the About Us section here, and highlights many of the great achievements from the April 2022-March 2023 reporting period. We’re pleased that many of the highlights from that time have come back bigger and better in 2023 and into 2024 – including events from our strategic partners such as Duns Play Fest, and our very own Beer & Food Festival and upcoming New Year Ceilidh.
This year saw three of our long-standing Trustees step down after completing 3-consecutive terms. We’d like to express our huge gratitude to Derek Janes, Andrew Lester, and Genny Dixon, who were instrumental in founding AHFD and saving Duns Volunteer Hall for the community over a decade ago. We’re pleased to say that they’ll continue to be part of the AHFD family, participating in our many committees, which all members are able to enquire about and join.
We also gained two new Trustees, and are pleased to welcome on to the Board Keith Dickinson and Andrew Mitchell.

We have much more to achieve in the year ahead and look forward to welcoming you to the Volunteer Hall, or engaging with you on one of our many other projects across Duns & District.
